It is getting close to the time to dig our hands into our Mother Earth and start growing and producing our useful herbs, beautiful flowers, and food for our bellies. I myself cant wait to feel mothers heartbeat as I cultivate and plant. I have decided to grow allot more this year so I can dry and give myself a chance to learn the art of canning. Also spring here in Colorado is Awesome!!! I cant wait to be able to go to my special place and beat my drum under the Full Moon and to welcome Demeter, the great Olympian Goddess of Agriculture, my she give us her Blessing this year for a fruitful harvest! Here is some information on how to plant with the phases of the Moon. From ancient times, gardening practices have been based on the moons phases. The Moon affects plant growth by its pull on water. Plants contain a huge amount of water , and they respond to the tidal pulls of the Moon.
The best time to plant is just before the New Moon and during its waxing phase. The waning Moon to the balsamic phase is clean-up time, weed out dying plants or overgrown beds, rake paths, trim, burn or compost debris.
However, some plants do better when started during certain Moon phases. During the New moon, plant flowers, shrubs, trees and garden vegetables like lettuce, chard, spinach and other above-ground veges. As the Moon grows full, it draws the plants up, enhancing their growth. Root crops, like potatoes, turnips and onions like the dark of the Moon.

When the Moon moves through certain signs, it becomes more barren or more fertile. In general, plant during fertile and semi-fertile signs, keeping in mind that below-ground plants flourish during barren signs.

Here is some helpful information

Aries March 21-April 20, is a fire sign, barren and dry. Should I sew together my over shimmy thing for my belly dance skirt, which I still need to hem. Or figure out which book to read out of the really big stack. I get bored too easy, Hey! I could get on the exercise machine!, nah, I really am looking out for my Goddess figure. OK, now I`m thinking, (look out!)You know our world is pretty much in a mess right now and we really need to stick together. I think there are two classes of humans, the ones that give and nurture and the one`s that look out for them selves. Our planet is going to go through some changes, where we will see who is in what class. I for one think we need to get back to learning how to live off our Mother Earth. We have become way too comfortable with twenty first century stuff. Could you survive and take care of your family without electricity, grocery stores, money, communication, doctors, running water???????. Think about that, if you cant, start educating yourself. Make a plan, if nothing happens in YOUR lifetime, that's OK, at least you learned survival techniques that hopefully you taught your children. OK I vented, now I`ll go finish my skirt.

Many Blessings!!!!

Minerva Goddess Of Wisdom & Commerce

Minerva was the daughter of Jupiter and Metis. She was considered to be the virgin goddess of warriors, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, crafts, and the inventor of music. As 'Minerva Medica', she was the goddess of medicine and doctors.. Ovid called her the "goddess of a thousand works." Her Greek mythology counterpart was Athena, and Minerva too sprung fully grown, and fully armored, from the head of Jupiter. In the temple on the Capitoline Hill she was worshipped together with Jupiter and Juno, with whom she formed a powerful triad of gods. According to legend, the Queen of Spades playing card depicts Minerva. When I am making a piece, and my creative juices get clogged up, I call on Minerva. She`s helped me with alot of my just can`t seem to get it together creative funks.
